NBCC (India) has announced a significant upward revision in the cost of the Rajasthan Mandapam Convention Centre and its allied developments, with the project now valued at over ₹5,800 crore following approval from the Rajasthan Cabinet. This marks a substantial increase from the earlier estimated cost of around ₹3,700 crore.
Planned near Jaipur International Airport in Jaipur, the project will span more than 90 acres, with a total built-up area of approximately 94.53 lakh sq. ft. The master plan features an iconic convention centre of over nine lakh sq. ft., along with expansive expo halls covering about seven lakh sq. ft. It also includes global capability centres and IT/ITES office spaces totaling nearly 18 lakh sq. ft. Additional components such as hotels, retail spaces, and residential units will occupy over 10.76 lakh sq. ft., while a Natural History Museum is planned across more than 1.77 lakh sq. ft.
The development will also include a fintech plaza of around 69,000 sq. ft., contributing to a comprehensive mixed-use ecosystem that integrates business, culture, tourism, and leisure. At its core, the Rajasthan Mandapam Convention Centre is envisioned as a world-class venue, featuring multiple auditoria—including the 6,500-seat Padam Mandap—along with banquet halls, meeting rooms, and a modern concert arena capable of hosting international events.
NBCC will execute the project under a self-financing model aimed at ensuring efficiency and transparency, while RIICO will act as the developer. With tenders expected to be floated in April, the project is set to move into the execution phase.
