In a significant step towards enhancing aviation infrastructure in the Kashmir Valley, a new civil enclave will be developed at Srinagar International Airport at an estimated cost of ₹1,677 crore.
According to official details, the proposed facility will be operated by the Airports Authority of India within the Budgam Airbase of the Indian Air Force (IAF).
The airport, which was accorded international status in 2005, is situated about 12 km from Srinagar. The upcoming civil enclave is expected to boost passenger handling capacity and upgrade infrastructure to accommodate the region’s rising air traffic demand.
