Sarojini Nagar is set for a major transformation into a key connectivity and industrial hub through infrastructure projects worth several thousand crores, according to local MLA Rajeshwar Singh. Driven under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, these initiatives focus on upgrading road networks, accelerating industrial growth, and resolving traffic congestion.
Key high-impact projects include the ₹5,000-crore Link Expressway (50 km) connecting the Agra and Purvanchal Expressways, and the ₹4,700-crore Lucknow-Kanpur Elevated Road (65 km), which will slash travel time between Amausi Airport and Kanpur to 40 minutes. Additional ongoing works feature six bridges (₹499.51 crore), 11 canal embankment restorations (₹492.34 crore), and the upgrading of 165 roads (₹216 crore). Furthermore, over 1,900 local roads have been developed via civic agencies for ₹144 crore. Major expansions are also underway by the PWD and UPSIDA, alongside critical projects like the Outer Ring Road (Kisan Path), railway underpasses at Amausi and Piparsand, and the widening of the Lucknow-Mohan Road.
