Simhastha 2026: The ₹33k Cr Spark for Nashik’s Industrial Boom

Devendra Fadnavis recently said that Nashik, renowned for its religious and spiritual heritage, is poised to become a major driver of growth, with the state government initiating projects worth ₹33,000 crore ahead of the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela.

The Chief Minister stated that the city’s development momentum is expected to accelerate as Nashik prepares to host the large-scale religious gathering, with key events scheduled between October 31, 2026, and July 24, 2028.

Fadnavis said the infrastructure push linked to the Simhastha Kumbh Mela would strengthen Nashik’s position as an emerging development hub and ensure sustained urban and economic growth in the region.

He further noted that industrial expansion in and around Nashik is likely to gain pace through improved infrastructure, enhanced connectivity and upgraded facilities, while fresh investments are expected to generate significant employment opportunities.
