Maharashtra is set to launch India’s first comprehensive Road Safety Training and Research Institute at Saswad in Purandar taluka, Pune district. Spanning 25 acres, this flagship facility brings together three critical components: an Automated Testing Station (ATS), an Automated Driving Testing Track (ADTT), and a state-level research center designed to elevate inspection accuracy, transparency, and operational efficiency.
Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik recently inspected the project site, directing officials to leverage cutting-edge technology and maintain strict quality standards during construction. Beyond vehicle testing, the institute will serve as a premier training ground for Motor Vehicles Department personnel, equipping them with expertise in emerging automotive technologies, updated motor vehicle laws, road safety strategies, and modern traffic management.
