The Telangana government has engaged Singapore-based consultancy Surbana Jurong to prepare the detailed project report (DPR) for the ambitious Bharat Future City project, planned on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
The core development phase will cover 30,000 acres, of which 15,000 acres will be allocated to key functional zones such as education, healthcare, information technology, artificial intelligence, sports, and film city infrastructure. The DPR will define the zoning framework and facilitate land allocation across these sectors. Several major players have expressed interest in the project, including Reliance Group’s Vantara initiative, which has proposed a world-class zoo and ecotourism zone, and Salman Khan Ventures, which has announced plans for a ₹10,000 crore integrated township and film studio complex.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated that the project will follow global tendering processes to ensure transparency and high standards. Envisioned as a carbon-neutral urban centre, Bharat Future City will emphasise clean energy, electric mobility, and sustainable development. The project will span a 56-village footprint and is expected to move towards a comprehensive master plan proposal by January 2026.
