The Silicon State: Odisha's Rs 23,600 Crore Tech Boom

Odisha is rapidly emerging as a premier semiconductor hub, having attracted investment proposals worth approximately Rs 23,600 crore. Building on momentum from SEMICON India 2026—where the state engaged key industry leaders and international delegations from Japan, Sweden, and Taiwan—Odisha signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with QuadQuantum for a silicon carbide (SiC) substrate wafer facility.

To support this growth, the state has launched the Odisha Silicon Valley, an 870-acre electronics and semiconductor hub strategically connected to major ports, national highways, and the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar corridor. Additional expansions include ongoing discussions with Sancode Technologies and SiCSem for advanced packaging and multi-material fab units.
