Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha announced that the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) at Sanathnagar will be inaugurated by Ugadi, with patients gaining access to comprehensive medical services from day one.
During an inspection of the ongoing construction, the Minister said the main hospital building is nearing completion, while the installation of operation theatres, diagnostic facilities, and other essential medical equipment—including state-of-the-art MRI machines—is in its final phase. Emphasising the government’s approach, he stated, “We do not believe in publicity or hype. Our only focus is to provide quality healthcare to the people,” assuring that the hospital would be fully equipped and fully functional by the festival.
The 1,000-bed TIMS Hospital is being developed as a centre of excellence for cardiac care, offering advanced treatment for heart-related ailments. In addition, an organ transplantation centre is being set up, with modern operation theatres dedicated specifically to transplant surgeries.
