Upgrading Haryana: New STPs and Biogas Plants Set for 2027

In a major push toward sustainable infrastructure, Haryana is aggressively expanding its wastewater treatment and waste management capabilities. The state is currently building six new STPs (132 MLD)—expected to be operational by December 2027—and upgrading six major existing facilities (304 MLD) in key hubs like Gurugram and Rohtak.

Beyond municipal wastewater, the government is prioritizing industrial compliance through advanced CETP planning in Mirzapur and Badshahpur. Coupled with the ongoing development of three large-scale biogas plants (650 tonnes/day), these measures reflect Haryana's comprehensive approach to modernizing environmental management.
