Suzuki R&D Center India (SRDI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, has partnered with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and North East Dairy & Foods (NEDFL) to build a new compressed biogas (CBG) plant in Assam. Funded by SRDI, which will retain the project's carbon credits, the plant leverages NDDB's technical support and NEDFL's operational and marketing capabilities to process agricultural and dairy waste into clean fuel and organic fertilizer. This initiative strengthens rural economies by creating new revenue streams for local farmers while driving sustainable waste management. The project expands Suzuki's renewable energy footprint in India to nine biogas initiatives—including two active plants in Gujarat—reinforcing the company's commitment to India-Japan clean energy goals and circular economy solutions.
