Karnataka Public Works Department Minister Satish Jarkiholi has announced plans to establish two new solid waste management facilities in Belagavi to keep pace with the city’s growing population and rapid urbanisation.
During a quarterly progress review meeting at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, the Minister instructed officials to begin work on the proposed units without delay. He stressed the importance of completing all projects funded through MP and MLA local area development grants, assuring that thorough documentation would be maintained. “This was decided in the previous meeting. I expect officials to examine each programme carefully to ensure faster completion of pending works across departments,” he said.
At the meeting, MLA Raju Kage highlighted the need to restore agricultural lands affected by excessive irrigation, while other officials discussed the timely completion of projects such as the ESI hospital and multi-village drinking water schemes.
