CMPDI & MECL Unite to Boost India's Mineral Exploration

Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mineral Exploration and Consultancy (MECL) to jointly undertake exploration activities for energy and non-energy minerals across India.

The agreement was formalised at CMPDI headquarters in Ranchi in the presence of Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey. The collaboration is aimed at strengthening India’s mineral exploration ecosystem by enhancing coal and mineral exploration capabilities, expanding the national mineral resource inventory, supporting the identification and development of new mining blocks, and improving coordination between key geological exploration agencies.

According to officials, the partnership is expected to streamline exploration activities, improve efficiency in resource identification, and accelerate the pace of geological surveys and mineral assessments across the country.
