L&T’s Hydrocarbon Onshore business (L&T Onshore) has secured a significant contract from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) for the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of a linear low-density polyethylene/high-density polyethylene (LLDPE/HDPE) Swing Unit at Bina, Madhya Pradesh.
The unit will comprise two trains, each with a capacity of 575 KTPA, making it the largest LLDPE/HDPE Swing Unit in India and setting a new benchmark in polyethylene production. This project is part of BPCL’s Bina Petrochemicals & Refinery Expansion Project, which seeks to increase the refinery’s capacity from 7.8 MMTPA to approximately 11 MMTPA.
The development supports India’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ vision by strengthening domestic manufacturing and enhancing self-sufficiency in polymer production. L&T Onshore will execute the project on a lump-sum turnkey basis, delivering end-to-end solutions across various hydrocarbon sectors.
