JSW Subsidiary Shiva Cement Expands Mining Scope in Odisha

Shiva Cement, a subsidiary of JSW Cement, has secured a modified Environmental Clearance and Consent to Operate for its Khatkurbahal (North) Block Limestone and Dolomite Mine in Sundargarh district. The regulatory milestone permits the company to expand into commercial dolomite mining with a production capacity of 2.4 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

Out of an estimated 89.09 million tonnes of total dolomite resources at the Khatkurbahal (North) block, 48.27 million tonnes are categorized as mineable. The approval unlocks a new revenue stream through commercial sales while fortifying Shiva Cement's raw material base for key industries, including steel, cement, glass, and refractories.
