Vedanta Oil and Gas has joined forces with Beicip-Franlab India to fast-track hydrocarbon exploration, optimize resource maturation, and boost long-term production across its strategic portfolio in Northeast India.
The technical partnership unites exploration, evaluation, and development planning under a single framework by combining advanced seismic interpretation, geological and reservoir studies, prospect ranking, and field development planning. Spanning nine Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP) blocks and one Discovered Small Field (DSF) block—including key priority assets like the Hazarigaon and Rudra fields—the initiative aims to create a robust pipeline of drill-ready prospects.
By bridging subsurface potential with targeted development strategies, the collaboration has the estimated capacity to unlock up to 300 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe) in additional resources and reserves. Ultimately, the program is designed to drive domestic energy production, enhance asset recovery, and strengthen India's overall energy security.
