Karnataka’s industrial sector received a significant boost as pharma leader Cipla and plant-based protein producer Roquette India pledged a combined ₹300 crore toward facility expansions across the state.
Under the expansion plan announced at Karnataka's investment roadshow in Mumbai, Cipla will direct ₹200 crore to scale output at its Bommasandra plant in Bengaluru, targeting operational status later this year. Meanwhile, Roquette India will allocate ₹100 crore to enhance its Gokak food processing unit in the Belagavi district. The roadshow also sparked strategic discussions with institutional investors like Blackstone regarding opportunities in data infrastructure, green energy, and advanced manufacturing expansion.
