Healing the Heartland: Palghar’s Tribal Healthcare Revolution

The administration in Maharashtra’s Palghar district has announced several key initiatives aimed at strengthening healthcare services for the region’s tribal population.

A new district civil hospital, which has been under development since the formation of the district, is expected to become fully operational within the next year. According to Palghar Civil Surgeon Dr. Ramdas Marad, the facility will provide comprehensive multi-speciality healthcare services. In addition, the Manor Trauma Care Centre, situated along the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Highway, is nearing completion and will play a vital role in providing emergency and life-saving care.

Palghar Member of Parliament Dr. Hemant Sawra has been actively working to secure both central and state funding to ensure the timely completion of these projects. District Health Officer Dr. Santosh Chowdhari noted that the administration is implementing healthcare improvements in a phased manner, with a strong focus on addressing the specific needs of the tribal community.
