Adani Plugs Into the Future: 50 GWh Battery Giant Rises in Gujarat.

The Adani Group, led by Gautam Adani, is set to develop India’s largest Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in the Khavda region of Gujarat.

Targeted for completion by March 2026, the facility will play a pivotal role in supporting the group’s renewable energy expansion and grid stability. Once operational, it will rank among the largest battery storage systems globally. The Adani Group also plans to scale the system’s total storage capacity to 50 GWh over the next five years, marking a major milestone in India’s energy infrastructure development.

As battery storage becomes increasingly critical for managing intermittent renewable sources like wind and solar, the group is actively seeking technological partnerships with leading international firms to advance the project.

The initiative aligns with India’s clean energy goals, supporting the national target of achieving 500 GW of renewable capacity by 2030, and underscores the Adani Group’s commitment to accelerating the country’s transition toward sustainable power solutions.
