Adani Pushes for Rs 16,000-Crore Titanium Plant in Andhra Pradesh

A high-level delegation led by Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, met with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati to advance discussions on a proposed Rs 16,000-crore titanium plant in the Srikakulam district.

The initiative is part of the Adani Group's broader strategy to enhance domestic mineral processing and develop high-value products from beach sand minerals. The delegation detailed how ilmenite can be refined into essential derivatives like titanium slag, titanium dioxide, and titanium sponge, which serve vital roles in the paint, plastic, and polymer sectors. Furthermore, the Group unveiled a Master Plan for a proposed data centre and IT park in Visakhapatnam, complemented by regional skill-development initiatives.

In response, Chief Minister Naidu underscored the necessity of building an integrated value chain, prioritizing domestic processing to drive economic growth, maximize value addition, and reduce reliance on imported critical minerals.
