NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nxtra Data Ltd to jointly explore the development of renewable energy projects for supplying round-the-clock (RTC) power to Nxtra’s data centres across India.
The MoU was signed at NTPC Bhawan, New Delhi, by Sarit Maheshwari, CEO of NGEL and NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd, and Ashish Arora, CEO of Nxtra. Under the agreement, both companies will assess opportunities to establish renewable energy projects to meet Nxtra’s captive power requirements on a pan-India basis.
Nxtra Data, a leading data centre operator, is expected to benefit from a reliable and sustainable power supply as demand for digital infrastructure continues to rise in India. The collaboration also positions NGEL as a prospective long-term green energy partner for the rapidly expanding data centre sector.
