Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd. (MPPTCL) has strengthened power transmission infrastructure in Harda district with the successful commissioning and energisation of a new 200 MVA transformer at the 220 kV Handia substation.
The newly installed transformer has replaced an older 160 MVA unit, increasing the substation’s total capacity from 480 MVA to 520 MVA. Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar congratulated MP Transco on the achievement, stating that the upgraded infrastructure will help ensure a more reliable and uninterrupted power supply across the region. The project is expected to support industrial and agricultural activities and contribute to the overall development of Madhya Pradesh.
The enhanced capacity will benefit areas including Harda, Khategaon, Kannod, Sultanpur, Gopalpur, Nasrullaganj, Satwas, and Fatehabad. With the commissioning of the new transformer, the total transformation capacity of Harda district has risen to 879 MVA.
