Hitachi Energy India is experiencing unprecedented demand for grid infrastructure, fueled by investments in renewables, data centres, battery storage, and semiconductors, pushing its order book to a record ₹32,000 crore. According to MD and CEO N Venu, the primary challenge lies in grid planning and procurement rather than capacity competition. Venu advocates shifting from a project-by-project model to a programme-based approach, enabling the supply chain to build capacity ahead of time and keep pace with India's surging energy needs.
