JSW Energy, through its wholly-owned subsidiary JSW Neo Energy, has completed its largest-ever acquisition by purchasing a 4.7 GW renewable energy platform from O2 Power for ₹12,468 crore. This transformative deal significantly accelerates JSW Energy’s progress toward its 20 GW clean energy target, well ahead of the 2030 goal.
The acquisition adds 4,696 MW of diversified renewable capacity—spanning solar, wind, hybrid, and round-the-clock (RTC) power—boosting the company’s installed capacity to 12,212 MW, with renewables now comprising over 50% of its total portfolio.
O2 Power, backed by global investors EQT and Temasek, contributes 1,343 MW of operational assets and a 2,259 MW development pipeline. The portfolio includes 4,100 MW of utility-scale projects and 596 MW for commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers.
Of the total capacity, 3,722 MW is backed by long-term PPAs with creditworthy offtakers, while 974 MW has secured letters of award or intent. JSW Energy plans to invest an additional ₹13,500 crore to fully develop the O2 platform by June 2027, further strengthening its position as a leader in India’s green energy transition.
