Krishnagiri Substation Gets ₹385 Cr Capacity Upgrade

The National Committee on Transmission (NCT) has approved a ₹385.92 crore inter-state transmission system (ISTS) project to boost connectivity at the Krishnagiri pooling substation in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. Executed via the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) framework with RECPDCL as the bid process coordinator, the project—titled Additional Transmission System for Grant of Connectivity at Krishnagiri PS under Phase-I—will add 2,500 MVA of transformation capacity. This expansion will complement the existing Krishnagiri REZ infrastructure, which was acquired by Power Grid Corporation of India in August 2026.
