PGCIL Powers Up: 765 kV Khetri-Narela Line is Live!

Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) has successfully commissioned the 765 kV double-circuit Khetri–Narela transmission line, a significant milestone in strengthening North India’s power transmission network.

The high-capacity line is expected to enhance grid reliability, support renewable energy integration, and enable efficient long-distance bulk power transfer. PGCIL, a Maharatna CPSU under the Ministry of Power, highlighted that this achievement reflects the dedication of its project teams, who overcame challenging terrain and adverse weather conditions to complete the project.

The new transmission line will boost power availability in Delhi, NCR, Rajasthan, and neighboring regions, while facilitating the evacuation of renewable energy from resource-rich states, contributing to a more resilient and sustainable power grid.
