NHPC Limited has approved an investment of ₹5,700 crore for the development of two hydroelectric power projects in Jammu and Kashmir.
The company’s board has cleared the implementation of the projects, with construction scheduled to commence in March 2026. Once completed, the projects are expected to enhance renewable energy generation capacity in the region and strengthen overall grid reliability.
NHPC stated that the investment is aligned with its long-term hydro expansion strategy. The projects will be executed in phases, subject to obtaining the necessary statutory and regulatory clearances.
