Reliance NU Energies, a subsidiary of Reliance Power, has received the Letter of Award (LoA) after emerging as the largest winner in India’s first 1,500 MW / 6,000 MWh Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) ISTS tender issued by SJVN.
The company secured a capacity of 750 MW / 3,000 MWh — the highest allocation in the auction. The FDRE tender marks a major step toward enabling round-the-clock renewable power supply through hybrid and energy storage solutions. Notably, the auction was oversubscribed by 3.3 times, reflecting strong industry participation.
With this win, Reliance Power now holds India’s largest portfolio in solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), exceeding 4 GWp of solar and 6.5 GWh of storage capacity. The hybrid configuration will integrate solar and BESS to deliver peaking power to DISCOMs at a competitive tariff of ₹6.74 per kWh.
This milestone reinforces the Reliance Group’s leadership in clean energy and its commitment to accelerating India’s energy transition and decarbonization goals.
