SECI Awards 324 MW Pumped Hydro Contract to Tata Power

Tata Power has bagged a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to supply 324 MW of power from its upcoming 1,000 MW Pumped Hydro Storage Project (PSP) in Bhivpuri, Maharashtra.

Secured through an e-reverse auction under SECI’s global competitive bidding, the project is backed by a 40-year Pumped Storage Purchase Agreement and targeted for commissioning by 2029. Developed on a Build, Own, Operate (BOO) framework, the facility delivers eight hours of energy storage to manage peak demand and integrates into the national grid via the 765/400 kV South Kalamb CTU substation. Following this win, Tata Power’s total clean and green energy portfolio has scaled to 17.5 GW.
