UPPTCL’s ₹500-Cr Mega Substation Project Now Open for Bids!

Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (UPPTCL) has invited bids for a major transmission infrastructure project involving the construction of a 765/400 kV pooling substation at Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. The project will be executed on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) or turnkey basis.

The proposed transmission scheme is designed to strengthen the state's high-voltage power network and enhance the evacuation and transmission of electricity across the region. The project has an estimated cost of ₹500.93 crore.

The scope of work includes the development of a 765/400 kV pooling substation equipped with two 765 kV line bays, four 765/400 kV, 1,500 MVA interconnecting transformer (ICT) bays, one 330 MVAR 765 kV bus reactor bay and two 330 MVAR 765 kV line reactor bays. The project also includes one 125 MVAR bus reactor bay and four 400 kV line bays, along with the construction of two additional 765 kV bays at Bara Thermal Power Station (TPS).

The planned infrastructure is expected to improve grid stability, increase transmission capacity and support the growing power demand in Uttar Pradesh. The project will also facilitate efficient integration and transfer of electricity within the state's transmission network.

Interested bidders have been invited to submit their proposals, with the tender submission deadline scheduled for July 10, 2026.
