Beyond Crossings: Rs 108 Cr ROB Project Kicks Off in Guntur

In a major push toward zero accidents and modern infrastructure, Union Minister of State for Railways V Somanna—accompanied by Union Minister Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar—laid the foundation stone for a new four-lane ROB on 27 September, 2026.

Replacing Level Crossing Gate No. 3 on the Guntur-Krishna Canal section, the 668-meter project is fully funded by the Ministry of Railways at a cost of Rs 108 crore. Highlighting the government's commitment to safety, officials noted that this project is part of a broader Rs 3,500 crore modernization drive upgrading 74 railway stations throughout the state.
