The proposed Nigdi (Bhakti-Shakti Chowk) to Chakan Metro Corridor under Pune Metro Phase 2 has reached a pivotal stage, with Maha Metro submitting its revised detailed project report.
Budgeted at ₹12,937.23 crore, the 45.3-km fully elevated corridor will incorporate 34 stations, seamlessly integrating expanding urban centers like Wakad, Nashik Phata, Bhosari, and Moshi directly with the Chakan industrial zone. Beyond offering safe and reliable mass transit to thousands of daily industrial commuters, the project is expected to spur rapid real estate and economic development across the corridor. Stakeholders are now advocating for speedy regulatory approvals so work can begin.
