DP World's New Rail Lines Bridge West and East India

DP World, one of India’s leading private rail freight operators, has launched two new domestic rail services connecting Bhimasar and Hazira in Gujarat with Kolkata, West Bengal.

The Hazira–Kolkata service will also run twice a month, with a seven-day transit time and the same capacity. Key cargo includes edible oils, chemicals, steel, industrial goods, food grains, and salt.

These additions are part of DP World’s ₹1,800 crore investment in India’s rail freight infrastructure. The company’s extensive logistics network includes:

Over 100 owned container and SFTO rakes, A fleet of 16,000 containers and trailers, Seven inland terminals, A 15,000-pincode express cargo network, Over 5 million sq. ft. of warehousing space

DP World’s existing container terminal at Mundra and the upcoming Tuna Tekra terminal further enhance multimodal connectivity, reinforcing Gujarat’s role as a logistics gateway.
