Railway Board Chairman and CEO Satish Kumar has directed Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL) to ensure the timely and accelerated completion of the ₹597.68 crore Kazipet Railway Manufacturing Unit in Telangana. Inspecting the 160-acre site, Kumar evaluated progress across core sections, including the Main Manufacturing Shed, Coach, Paint, and Final Testing shops.
Expected to roll out operations by late 2026, the facility sits at a critical South Central Railway junction on the Balharshah-Secunderabad trunk route, offering high-efficiency rail connectivity for moving materials and rolling stock nationwide. The completed unit is set to significantly expand Indian Railways' production capacity and drive long-term network modernization.
