In a major push for Karnataka's rail infrastructure, the Union Government has announced the quadrupling of railway tracks connecting Bengaluru to key satellite cities within a 100-km radius.
Union Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna confirmed that the survey for the Bengaluru–Tumakuru quadruple line is finished, and tendering will commence immediately. The project is slated for completion within two years. Furthermore, a feasibility survey has been approved for the heavily frequented Bengaluru–Mysuru route.
This decision aligns with infrastructure demands raised by state Minister M.B. Patil, who previously emphasized the need for four-line corridors linking the capital to Tumakuru, Mysuru, Kolar, and Hindupura.
