New Rail and Road Links Boost Telangana's Connectivity

The Ministry of Railways has approved the construction of a new railway station in Bhupalpally and a bus stand near Kazipet railway station in Telangana, marking a significant step toward enhancing regional connectivity and infrastructure.

The approvals came after Warangal MP Kadiyam Kavya raised the need for a rail link connecting Bhupalpally with Warangal, Kazipet, and Jammikunta, emphasizing the strategic importance of Bhupalpally—home to Singareni Collieries and TGGenco, which currently rely solely on road transport for coal movement.

The South Central Railway has been directed to conduct a feasibility study, with a detailed report expected in six months. In parallel, the bus stand approved near Kazipet station—to be built on railway land—will improve last-mile connectivity for passengers.

These projects are expected to streamline freight operations, reduce logistics costs, and enhance passenger services, contributing to the region’s economic development. MP Kavya and other local leaders welcomed the decision and reiterated their support for creating a Kazipet railway division to decongest Secunderabad—an initiative also endorsed by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
