On Track: Gurugram Metro Expands with New Basai Station

Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) has sought approximately 1,000 sq. metres of land near Basai Pond to facilitate entry and exit infrastructure for the proposed Basai Metro Station, part of the Phase One Metro corridor connecting Millennium City Centre to Sector-9 station.

The request includes 785 sq. mtrs. for the viaduct and 365 sq. mtrs. for access facilities on either side of the Basai–Dwarka Expressway carriageway, where the elevated station is planned. GMRL has approached the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) to verify land ownership and fast-track the land acquisition process, with construction expected to commence shortly.

The metro alignment runs along the service road near the GMDA flyover, extending parallel to the expressway towards the Sector-101 station. The project also envisions developing the Basai Pond area into a green space, integrating ecological preservation with urban mobility infrastructure.

HSVP officials have confirmed active efforts to identify and allocate the land to ensure the project stays on schedule.
