₹358 Crore Rail Boost: Modernizing Infrastructure in Gujarat and Bihar

Indian Railways has cleared infrastructure projects worth ₹358 crore across Gujarat and Bihar, targeting improved rail capacity, enhanced safety and smoother train operations.

In Gujarat, the ₹125-crore Bhavnagar Para Yard Remodeling project will decongest Bhavnagar Terminus by shifting stabling and other operational activities to Bhavnagar Para. The project is expected to reduce rake detention, improve train punctuality and provide greater flexibility in train movements. In Bihar, ₹233 crore has been sanctioned for installing Electronic Interlocking (EI) systems at 21 stations in the Samastipur Division of East Central Railway.

The projects are part of Indian Railways’ ongoing efforts to modernise infrastructure, strengthen safety systems and improve operational efficiency across key railway networks.
