Datamatics has expanded its collaboration with Mumbai Metro, with its automated fare collection (AFC) and mobile ticketing solutions now being implemented on Metro Lines 2B and 9.
The company noted that this builds on its earlier deployments on Lines 2A and 7, further strengthening its role in enabling seamless and efficient urban mobility. The latest rollout is aimed at improving commuter convenience through faster and smarter ticketing systems.
Datamatics highlighted that the partnership holds particular significance as the company is headquartered in Mumbai, with these projects directly benefiting a large base of daily commuters.
Globally, the company has executed over 30 AFC projects across major transit networks in cities such as London, New York, Melbourne, Hong Kong, and Dubai, including work for the Memphis Area Transit Authority in the United States.
In India, Datamatics has delivered AFC solutions for multiple large-scale transit systems, including the Delhi–Meerut RRTS, Kolkata Metro, Pune Metro, Lucknow Metro, and the ropeway system at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu.
