The Haryana district administration has constituted a joint panel to resolve land acquisition issues that have been delaying the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC) project.
The panel includes officials from the Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) and the Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (HRIDC). It will inspect and identify land parcels to be transferred for the project and ensure proper demarcation on the ground.
The HORC is a 126-km railway corridor proposed to improve regional connectivity. The foundation stone was laid in October 2022. The line will connect Palwal to Sonipat via Sohna, Manesar, and Kharkhoda, linking with the Dedicated Freight Corridor as well as multiple Indian Railways stations. The project is divided into two segments: a 30-km stretch from Palwal to Patli and a 96-km section between Patli and Sonipat.
A section of the corridor between Manesar and Patli became operational in 2025, providing rail access to the Maruti plant. Emphasising the need to avoid further delays, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar called for faster compensation settlements and timely completion of structure valuations, stating that project work should not be hindered at any level.
