Jaipur Development Authority has announced plans to develop its first 10-storey residential high-rise project, signalling a strategic shift in its approach to housing development.
The proposed complex will be built on a vacant plot in Lalkothi, opposite the state Police Headquarters, to address the shortage of government housing in the Malviya Nagar and Lal Kothi areas. The project will replace ageing residential structures and is expected to include more than 250 apartments, primarily comprising three-BHK and four-BHK units.
The housing complex is intended mainly for JDA officials and employees from various government departments and will serve as a pilot model for future high-rise residential projects in the city. In addition to residential units, the development will include amenities such as a shopping area, gymnasium, community hall and indoor sports facilities. A detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared following completion of the initial proposal stage.
According to an official, the project will be developed on approximately 14,000 square metres of land at an estimated cost of around ₹200 crore. Preference in allotment will be given to JDA officials, while any remaining units may be allocated to employees from other government departments.
