In an effort to bolster regional transport infrastructure, the Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) has submitted a proposal for the construction of a 100-foot-wide arterial link road. This project establishes a direct bypass between National Highway 140 and National Highway 71, resolving the current navigational bottleneck at Thondavada.
Traversing Ithepalli, A. Rangampeta, and the Kalyani Dam corridor, the proposed route is engineered to divert traffic away from congested urban centers, significantly improving transit times for commuters traveling toward Tirupati, the local airport, and regional hubs like Chandragiri and Naravaripalle. The initiative is presently under board review, with preliminary field surveys actively underway to determine the optimal final alignment.
