The 594 km Ganga Expressway, designed to link Meerut and Prayagraj, is approaching a key milestone, with the initial 130 km Meerut–Badaun section expected to open to traffic by November 2025.
Originally scheduled for completion by 12 October, the timeline was slightly delayed due to heavy monsoon rains. Construction is now nearly finished, with the only pending work being the approach road to the Simbhaoli railway overbridge, which requires additional soil stabilisation. This segment is on track for completion by end-October.
Executed by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) under the supervision of UPEIDA, this stretch features robust infrastructure, including a toll plaza at Kharkhari, welcome signage, street lighting, speed-monitoring systems, security cameras connected to a central control room, and fully operational internet and tolling systems.
In the Meerut district alone, 14 major structures—comprising bridges, flyovers, and underpasses—have been constructed. Across the Meerut–Badaun section, a total of 161 structures have been built, including major and minor bridges, railway overbridges, and grade separators.
This phased launch marks a significant milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s largest infrastructure project, promising faster, safer connectivity and long-term economic benefits across the region.
