NAINA's Next Chapter: ₹953 Crore Upgrade for Navi Mumbai

In a major step toward transforming regional mobility and urban infrastructure, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated crucial projects valued at ₹953 crore under the Navi Mumbai International Airport Area (NAINA) initiative.

Anchored by three new bridges and the Uran bypass, the development will drastically improve access to the Navi Mumbai International Airport while fueling economic expansion. Demonstrating a community-first approach, the state government distributed land documents to local property owners, resolving lingering disputes and clearing the path for smooth implementation.

The first phase of NAINA encompasses 46 villages across a 42 sq. km zone, laying the foundation with 200 km of roads, integrated water networks, and civic infrastructure. Designed to support sustainable urbanization, the emerging hub is expected to unlock over 1.5 million new job opportunities. Development agency CIDCO continues to engage with local communities to ensure fair land distribution, road alignment, and the protection of existing homes.
