Pushta Sonia Vihar on the Rise: Elevated Road Project Approved

The Delhi government has approved a Rs 500 crore elevated road project to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity in the trans-Yamuna region, particularly the Pushta Sonia Vihar area.

Stretching over 5.5 km, the elevated road will connect Nanaksar Gurudwara to Shani Mandir at the Uttar Pradesh border, directly addressing persistent traffic challenges in the region.

Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Parvesh Verma confirmed that the project received approval from Chief Minister Rekha Gupta after detailed discussions. He emphasized the environmental concerns in the area, noting, "The local MLA and Minister Kapil Mishra has been a strong advocate for this project. Considering the presence of numerous trees, we have opted for an elevated flyover instead of a traditional road."

This project is expected to provide significant relief to thousands of daily commuters who have long been affected by heavy traffic congestion in the region.
