The Vadodara–Surat stretch of the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway is nearing completion, with only one remaining segment—the Ankleshwar to Kim section—left under construction.
The 25-km stretch is 90% complete and is expected to open by late 2024 or early 2025. Of the six packages between Vadodara and Surat, four are already operational. Package 5, the final missing link, has seen rapid progress with active work on the Kim Interchange, key bridges, and underpasses.
A major obstacle—relocation of high-tension power transmission poles—has now been resolved, and pole shifting along with earthwork is currently underway. The Railway Overbridge near Kosamba is also nearing completion. Once fully operational, this expressway section will greatly enhance connectivity across Gujarat’s industrial corridor, reduce travel time, and strengthen regional logistics.
