AMPIN Energy Transition has commissioned Odisha’s first group captive commercial and industrial (C&I) open access solar project, marking a significant step in the state’s renewable energy transition.
The 60 MWp solar project, developed under the OREP-22 policy, is located in Kantabanji and is expected to play a key role in advancing Odisha’s clean energy goals. AMPIN managed the project end-to-end, from policy engagement and land acquisition to engineering, construction, and commissioning.
The plant will supply renewable power to major industrial and commercial consumers, including Bharti Airtel, Jindal Stainless, Emami Paper Mills, and Quality CARE Hospitals. It is expected to reduce reliance on conventional grid power by nearly 50% for these users, delivering energy cost savings of 25–30% while significantly lowering carbon emissions.
The project is also projected to cut emissions substantially each year, contributing to environmental sustainability on a scale comparable to planting millions of trees annually.
AMPIN is further expanding its presence in the state, with an additional 45 MWp currently under construction and another 50 MWp in the pipeline. This is expected to increase the company’s total renewable energy portfolio in Odisha to around 200 MW.
