Clean Energy Boom: ReNew's 3,990 Cr. Solar Manufacturing Hub

ReNew Photovoltaics, a subsidiary of ReNew Energy Global, has announced plans to set up a greenfield 6-GW solar ingot–wafer manufacturing plant at Rambilli in Anakapalli district, Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of ₹3,990 crore.

The project will house India’s first commercial-scale integrated ingot–wafer manufacturing facility, producing critical components for solar cells and modules. Approved by the Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), the initiative is expected to reduce India’s reliance on imported components—particularly from China—and support the national target of achieving 300 GW of solar capacity by 2030.

Backed by the Government of India’s production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme, the plant will be developed on 130–140 acres, with commercial operations targeted for January 2028. Once operational, it is expected to generate around 1,200 jobs and emerge as a major hub for solar and clean-energy technologies in the country.
