Jupiter International, a Kolkata-based solar cell manufacturer, has commissioned its third solar cell production unit in Baddi, marking a significant step in its expansion journey.
The new facility, developed by its subsidiary Jupiter Solartech, adds 1 GW of mono PERC capacity to the company’s existing 959 MW base, taking its total installed capacity to nearly 2 GW. Strategically located in Baddi, the unit is dedicated to high-efficiency mono PERC technology and is designed to meet global benchmarks for quality and productivity.
The expansion is expected to double the company’s local workforce by creating skilled employment opportunities and strengthening advanced solar manufacturing operations. As part of its long-term growth strategy, Jupiter is also in the process of establishing an additional 1.25 GW TOPCon solar cell production line.
Commenting on the development, Chairman and Managing Director Alok Garodia described the commissioning of Unit III at Baddi as a major milestone in scaling up the company’s solar manufacturing capabilities and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering world-class clean energy technologies.
