The West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) has issued a tender to select consultants for conducting a pre-feasibility study and preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a proposed floating solar photovoltaic (PV) project at the Kangsabati Mukutmanipur Dam in Bankura district, West Bengal.
The objective of the study is to determine the optimal megawatt capacity for the floating solar installation, with a focus on maximizing power generation while considering site-specific environmental and technical factors. Consultants are expected to incorporate local conditions into their proposals, based on detailed site visits and assessments, as specified in the Terms of Reference (ToR).
This initiative is part of West Bengal’s broader push to scale up renewable energy capacity, particularly through the innovative use of water bodies for sustainable electricity generation.
The deadline for bid submission is 29 October 2025.
