Shirdi Sai Gears Up: 1 GW Solar Plant On Track for December Launch

Shirdi Sai Electricals Ltd Chairman and Managing Director, Visweswara Reddy, announced that the company expects to commence commercial production of its 1-gigawatt ingot-to-module plant by December this year.

He further stated that an additional 5-gigawatt ingot-to-module plant, along with a glass manufacturing facility, is scheduled to begin continuous production by June-July 2026.

In an interview with ET Energyworld, Reddy highlighted the project's progress, emphasizing that work is in full swing. The company is investing approximately ₹69,000 crore to establish a 30-gigawatt Solar PV module manufacturing plant, which includes around 90,000 metric tonnes of polysilicon and associated metallurgical silica.

Additionally, a 20-gigawatt capacity is being developed downstream from ingot to module, featuring a 3,600 TPD glass production facility and a 200 MLD desalination plant.
